European Beech

Beech is typically a pale cream color often with a pink or orange hue. Slabs tend to be very homogenous in appearance while quartersawn surfaces exhibit a silvery fleck pattern. The grain is generally straight, with a fine to medium uniform texture which can be sanded and finished to an incredibly smooth luster. It is better for paper pulp than many other broadleaved trees though is only sometimes used for this. More commonly, the high cellulose content can be spun into modal, which is used as a textile akin to cotton.
